About Erica Zadakis, PhD
Meet Your Coach
I’m Erica Zadakis, PhD, a marriage and family therapist and trauma-informed coach with over a decade of experience helping people heal and transform. I work with high-functioning professionals, neurodivergent adults who feel stuck in cycles of burnout, anxiety, or perfectionism. In addition to clinical practice, I’ve taught undergraduate psychology and behavioral health courses and earned a doctorate studying historical trauma and how it‘s transmitted across generations. My work blends academic knowledge with integrative mind-body approaches to help clients move beyond survival mode into authentic thriving.
Who I Support & How I Help
As a trauma-informed coach, I offer support to:
High-functioning professionals & neurodivergent adults feeling burned out or stuck
Spiritual seekers who’ve tried therapy, coaching, retreats, or plant medicine but still long for breakthrough
Those struggling with masking, therapy plateaus, emotional disconnection, or spiritual bypassing
My approach integrates both psychology and spirituality, helping you move beyond cycles of overthinking, coping, or numbing, so you can finally reconnect with your authentic self sustainably.
My Journey Into This Work
After more than a decade of working as a therapist, I had my own reckoning, a season where everything I thought I knew seemed to fall apart. Beneath the surface, I was unraveling. I questioned my identity, my relationships, and the way I was showing up in the world.
Even with years of training, insight, and traditional talk therapy, I still found myself stuck, caught in cycles of blaming people, places, and things for my problems, unmanageable anxiety, masking, and chronic emotional disconnection. It was disorienting and painful, but what I had to relearn was that healing couldn’t come from analyzing my mind; it required tending to my spirit, reconnecting with the parts of myself I had pushed away.
What Helped Me
My own healing deepened when I sought out somatic healing modalities because I couldn’t hide behind logic and intellect. I was reminded that true transformation requires insight, meaning-making, and somatic release.
Through this process, I stopped performing stability and started experiencing it. I shifted from over-intellectualizing my pain to compassionately tending to it.
Today, my trauma-informed approach is inspired by my personal and professional experiences with:
EMDR
Brainspotting
Internal Family Systems
Inner child work, shadow work, and reparenting
Mindfulness and nervous system regulation
Exploration of generational trauma, karma, and past lives
It would be my honor to guide you through your journey toward meaningful and lasting change.
